Choosing the Right Resources For Your Child
Walk into any WH Smith or Waterstones bookshop and you’re inundated with a plethora of educational resources.
Understandably, parents are confused with little clue as to what books or resources to choose for their children.
In my experience as a teacher for many years, every parent is keen to get their children climbing the academic ladder and supporting them, as best as they can, to achieve well in school.
There are thousands of new educational resources coming to the marketplace every single day.
Many of these are excellent, well-thought out resources designed to fully support children and meet the required curriculum needs.
As stated earlier on, the number one headache this abundance of resources presents to parents is which of the resources to choose for their children.
As a parent, how do you know which ones to go for and which ones to leave out?
I have seen parents going completely ‘ballistic’ and purchasing far too many of these books only to end up with shelf upon shelf of, many times, forgotten books.
On this page, I am going to attempt to remove some of the frustrations you might be going through if any of the points made above applies to you.
I am not saying you should not purchase lots of books for your children…far from it. By all means, if the need is there to extend your child’s learning, go for the resources.
Right on this page, you will find details of recommended resources for the 11-Plus programme as well as recommended Maths, English and Science resources for the KS2, KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
I hope you find this simplified approach to selecting the right resources for your child useful.
