Grammar Vrs Local Comprehensives

What is it about 11 plus that makes some parents decide, ok, I want this for my child. I want this for my children?
What makes some parents so interested in 11 plus?
Are there any real benefits to children going to a grammar school?
These are some of the topics we have for our discussion today.
So let’s get into it.
To begin with, I’m a parent and I have one of my boys in a grammar school. He is actually in year 13 now.
So what made me decide to send him to a grammar school?
Well, I think the answer is obvious. If you’re a parent, you know what I’m talking about.
The simple answer is every parent wants good education for their child. Every parent wants a good education for their children and I am no exception, definitely not an exception.
So let’s talk a bit more about Grammar schools.
Grammar schools I believe were introduced in the UK in 1944 and many parents particularly those who are very interested in getting their children into a grammar school – see grammar schools as the only way to get a good education in the UK.
They see grammar schools as the only way that their children can have academic success.
They see grammar schools as the only way that their children can do well academically.
The question you might be thinking of, the question you probably have on your mind right now is ‘Can children not get a good education from their local comprehensives’?
They can – sure they can.
